Dragoon Saber Model 1790. Revolution/consulate/first Empire. With Its Original Sword Knot.
Strong, curved blade with a single fuller and flat back, stamped with the fasces at the rictor's rictor's mark. Oxidation is present at the tip of the blade over a 7 cm area. Blade length: 90.5 cm. Brass hilt with a small chip on one branch to allow passage for the hand with its thick, whitened leather glove; one branch bears the rooster mark; and the guard is stamped "Coullié". Square wooden grip, bound with string, covered in sheepskin and a thick, simple brass wire filigree. No scabbard, but with a period white buffalo leather sword knot, a rare model from the French Revolution. Overall length: 106.5 cm. 37 mm at the rictor's rictor's rictor's knot. Sold as is. Fairly good condition and a rare model of sword knot from the French Revolution. France. Revolution / Consulate / Empire.
