50 x 59 cm Élisée Maclet (1881–1962) was a French painter associated with the School of Paris. Born in Lihons in Picardy, he settled at a very young age in Montmartre, where he developed a personal style influenced by Impressionism and Fauvism. Like Maurice Utrillo, he specialized in urban landscapes, particularly views of Montmartre, which he painted with great sensitivity, capturing in a very personal way the atmospheres and variations of light. His work is distinguished by vivid colors and expressive brushwork, conveying both the poetry and the popular life of Parisian neighborhoods.
