Louis XV Style Bombé Commode In Floral Marquetry, Napoleon III Period – 19th Century

An elegant Louis XV style curved commode, made in the second half of the 19th century, during the Napoleon III era. It features a beautiful undulating front opening with two large drawers without a crossbar, richly decorated with finely executed floral marquetry.
The central floral motif unfolds harmoniously against a background of chevron-patterned veneer, creating a particularly refined graphic effect.
The sides are also decorated with marquetry floral reserves, demonstrating meticulous craftsmanship throughout.
Rich ornamentation of gilt and chased bronze mounts—foliate corner mounts, scrolled handles, keyhole escutcheons, and sabots—adds depth and elegance to the piece. It rests on four slender, cabriole legs.
The top is surmounted by a thick, corbelled marble slab with a breccia pattern in nuanced shades of brown, gray, and black, perfectly complementing the warmth of the veneer.
