Roger Capron Vase

Artist: Roger Capron
Geometric decorative vase signed Roger Capron. Roger Capron (1922-2006) was a French ceramicist. He received numerous awards and remains highly renowned today. Passionate about ceramics, he approached this technique in various ways. He modernized the traditional curves of Provençal pottery, developed mass production, explored decorative tiles, and then sculpture. Roger Capron studied at the École des Arts Appliqués in Paris until 1943. His passion for ceramics led him to open his own workshop in Vallauris with Robert Picault and later Jean Derval. He is one of the artists who contributed to the revival of Vallauris's golden age of ceramics. Subsequently, in 1952, he opened a factory employing about fifteen workers. He received numerous awards in Milan, Cannes, and Brussels. He also won the Grand Prix International de la Céramique in 1970. The factory closed in 1982. Roger Capron's works are present in numerous art galleries around the world.
