Gaston Charpentier-bosio (1858-1923) Large "portrait Of A Girl With A Fan"
Artist: Gaston Charpentier Bosio
Louis Gaston Amédée CHARPENTIER-BOSIO (1858-1923) "Portrait of a Girl with a Fan" An imposing oil on canvas, signed upper left and dated 1891.
This splendid, large-scale painting depicts a young girl in a lilac evening dress holding a fan. In this painting, Bosio demonstrates his skill as a portraitist, fully capturing the emotional and anxious moment of anticipation of a young debutante. The light that envelops the painting falls on her face, highlighting her dark eyes and pale complexion. The pictorial rendering is exceptional.
The painting is in excellent condition: on its first canvas, it still has its original gilded wooden frame.
