Very beautiful and large portrait of a notable of the Second Empire, Oil on canvas, Signed lower right: F. Meunier, and dated: 1854. Man of quality in the frock coat, in the silk waistcoat, you can see the chain of his pocket watch. He places his right hand on a work entitled Histoire de Napoléon. Original ogee frame, in wood and gilded stucco. Usage wear of the gilding. A lack of stucco is to be noted at the bottom right. In very good condition for the canvas, relining of this one.
