Pair Of 19th Century French Charles X Armchairs
A pair of French armchairs from the first half of the 19th century. These exceptionally elegant and rare furniture feature neo-Gothic decorations, dating back to the Charles X era. These armchairs are finely veneered and inlaid in palisander and maple, with relief ornamentation. Resting on four sturdy legs, the front legs are distinguished by refined cabinetmaking craftsmanship, creating neo-Gothic motifs and geometric inlays.
The rear legs are saber-shaped. The armrests are also exquisitely crafted, featuring two small twisted columns supporting a sculpture reminiscent of a shell (see photo). These armchairs are inlaid with precise geometric decorations and delightful floral motifs, making them extremely pleasing to the eye. Upholstered in blue fabric with minor signs of wear, the padding offers excellent comfort, with a seat height of 48 cm.
This hard-to-find furniture is part of a set of two pairs of armchairs, sold separately (see photo and request the price as a whole, if available). Armchairs showing some signs of age and small chips (see photos). Structurally sound, overall in good condition. Requires restoration.
