Renaissance-style walnut bookcase, circa 1850. General Description: An imposing Renaissance-style bookcase, entirely crafted from solid walnut. Italian work of exceptional quality, richly carved and superbly balanced. Front: Four doors with stained glass windows set within highly sculpted frames. Abundant decoration including: • pilastered columns • satyrs • foliate interlacing • stylized dolphins • other decorative elements typical of the Renaissance. Upper Section: Dentil cornice on the sides and front. Lower Section: Large compartment simulating drawers. Feet adorned with mascarons. Period: Circa 1850.
