Louis XVI Period Mahogany Flat Desk
A beautiful flat desk in mahogany and mahogany veneer, opening with four drawers that give the appearance of five.
The leather-covered top is framed in molded mahogany with a brass quarter-round molding.
The drawers, front, and sides are framed with a fine brass molding.
The molded corner uprights are inlaid with a dark wood stringing, continuing into tapered legs with strong fluting, ringed at the top and terminating in bronze sabots.
Two leather-lined pull-out slides protrude from the sides.

The original leather is split in the middle and has some minor damage.
There are cracks at the joints of the top.
The slides measure 56 cm wide and 41 cm deep.
