Pair of gilt bronze dolphin candlesticks (19th century). Pair of candlesticks or torches in chased and gilt bronze. Each torch features a central stem formed by a stylized dolphin, resting on a wide, square, canted base. The base is decorated with a frieze of acanthus leaves, gadroons, and rocaille scrolls. The candle cups (one is removable) are topped with flame-shaped snuffers. On display at the Galerie Courcelles Antiquités, 97 rue de Courcelles, in the 17th arrondissement of Paris.
