Rare pair of 1950s Design tables by Mathieu Matégot (1910-2001), "Domino" model, designed around 1953. Featuring a free-form L-shaped structure composed of metal rods and finely perforated metal mesh (known as Rigitule), one table is lacquered yellow and the other black. They can be joined to form a large rectangular coffee table; the tripod bases have a square cross-section and rest on gilded brass spheres. Each table measures 49.5 cm long x 49.5 cm wide x 37.5 cm high. Together, they measure 68 cm long x 49.5 cm wide.
