The catalogue of works on painting, drawing, sculpture, and architecture from the 1896 Montpellier National Exhibition indicates that Alfred-Jacques Boisson was a student of Alexandre Cabanel and Gustave Moreau and that he resided at 4, rue Astruc in Montpellier. He exhibited at the Paris Salon and in the provinces. Original oil on canvas, minor restorations, 122 x 65 cm. Recent waxed oak frame, 138.5 x 81.5 cm.
