French Renaissance Style: Ewer, Copper-plated Pewter, 19th Century.
Large ewer, a chalcograph of a museum piece made using electrogalvanic process developed by Mr. Ruolz (a process he perfected starting in 1840). Our model is similar to the famous Temperance Ewer in the Louvre by François Briot (1550-1616), sharing similar dimensions, a three-tiered body, a different handle with a serpent and goat's foot motif, and a simpler neck.
35cm x 12cm x 14cm. Weight: 750g.
Good overall condition, unrestored, but shows some dents on body and a small area of peeling copper plating on foot.
