18th Century Canivet.
Our delicate Canivet, in very good condition and dating from the 18th century, is handmade. It features a watercolor of the Virgin Mary in its center. From the mid-19th century onward, numerous images imitating genuine Canivets appeared: these were known as "lace images," produced semi-industrially.
We have framed this Canivet in a modern frame solely to protect the (very fragile) artwork, which we have simply placed on a gray cardboard backing. The artwork has not been glued to the cardboard, allowing the buyer the option of framing it in a more suitable frame.
Dimensions of the artwork: 13 cm x 10 cm (frame dimensions: 20 cm x 15 cm)
Shipping: Secure packaging and delivery via Colissimo registered mail with insurance, for mainland France: €15 - Europe: €20
