An elegant late 19th-century side table, composed of a red veined marble structure and four richly chased, twisted gilt-bronze columns. The capitals feature Corinthian-inspired decoration typical of the eclectic taste of the late 19th century. The base and stretcher are made of molded marble, highlighted by a gilt-bronze frieze. The upper shelf, also made of marble, is mounted on a rotating mechanism, allowing for the easy display of an object or sculpture. This column is currently adorned with a sculpture of a musical angel, perfectly illustrating its original purpose: displaying a bust, sculpture, vase, or other object.
