Georges Dreyfus Terracotta Baby Child Pincushion For Sewing
Artist: Georges Dreyfus
Rare sewing object. Georges Dreyfus, the renowned potter of Moret-sur-Loing (active 1890-1936), presents us this time, not in earthenware but in glazed terracotta, with a rare and amusing subject: a crying baby, bothered by an insect. A small padded velvet cushion, used for pinning sewing, has replaced the child's skullcap and thus serves as a pincushion. It comes in its original box and even its original tissue paper! First quarter of the 20th century. The usual mark is on the underside: a slightly damaged card marked in the center "GD Paris" as well as "déposé" (registered) and the catalog number 1184. Dimensions: Height: 9.2 cm, Width: 8 cm, Depth: 6.5 cm. Good condition. This object, an essential tool for seamstresses, is antique and has been used. It has a beautiful patina of age. Its cardboard box, which shows some signs of age, has retained its original trim. Please note that I respond to all inquiries about my items.
