He worked in the 19th and 20th centuries and was a French animal sculptor, engraver, and medalist. The son and pupil of Clovis Masson, he practiced animal art like his father. The museums of Dijon and Troyes hold some of his works. The bronze is signed and bears the foundry mark. It is of very high quality, with highly realistic features. It rests on a wooden base.
