Large Pair Of Longchamp Terre De Fer Vases – Floral Decoration – 19th Century – 59 Cm
Artist: Longchamp
Pair of large baluster-shaped vases with handles in Longchamp-Terre de Fer earthenware, dating from the late 19th/early 20th century. These elegant decorative vases are distinguished by their impressive height of 59 cm and their particularly rich polychrome decoration. The ivory background is adorned with a naturalistic floral design composed of chrysanthemums and foliage in vibrant colors (blue, red, green, and yellow), rendered in a Japonisme style very characteristic of the manufactory's production. The upper section features a flared, deep blue neck, framed by two scroll-shaped side handles also glazed in blue. The decoration is completed by a motif of stylized pine cones and foliage, bringing a beautiful balance to the whole. The base is highlighted by a polychrome decorative frieze that emphasizes the slender silhouette of the pieces. These large vases make a very decorative pair, ideal for a console table, sideboard, or entryway, and representative of the Longchamp pottery's expertise in producing ornamental pieces at the end of the 19th century. Dimensions: Height: 59 cm
