Norman Wedding Wardrobe
A Norman wedding armoire from the Bocage Virois region, crafted from molded and carved oak featuring motifs of cornucopias, garlands of flowers, a pair of birds on the wedding altar, and medallions with oratorical tools. The lower rail is particularly richly carved, and the cornice boasts seven tiers of carvings, heart-shaped moldings around the panels, columned uprights, brass fittings, and a complete interior. Dating from the 19th century, this armoire is presented in its natural state and in good condition. A beautifully crafted piece, rarely found in this condition.
