Sapphire And Diamond "toi & Moi" Ring – Late 19th Century
Sapphire and Diamond "Toi & Moi" Ring – Late 19th Century
A delicate "Toi & Moi" (You and Me) ring crafted in 18k yellow gold and platinum. The design is crowned with two old cushion-cut stones: a diamond and a sapphire, each weighing approximately 0.40 ct. The flowing lines of the band are further enhanced on the shoulders by six small rose-cut diamonds (three on each side), adding a subtle shimmer to the mounting.
Late 19th-century craftsmanship.
Specifications:
Diamond Dimensions: Approx. 4.67 x 4.28 x 2.70 mm.
Sapphire Dimensions: Approx. 4.60 x 3.88 x 2.67 mm.
Ring Size: 51 EU / 5.75 US (Resizing available).
Gross Weight: 2.9 g.
Hallmarks: Owl (18k gold – 750/1000) and Mascaron (platinum – 950/1000). Note: These French "census" marks guarantee the metal purity for antique jewelry.
Condition:
This ring is in excellent overall condition. The central diamond offers a fine whiteness and great clarity (few inclusions); a slight cutting mark on the girdle is present, a testament to its authentic antique character. The sapphire reveals an intense blue color, particularly luminous in sunlight, with natural growth bands visible under a loupe—proof of its non-synthetic origin.
Added value: The prongs have been discreetly retipped recently, ensuring perfect security for the setting of the main stones.
