Ewer And Basin In Paris Porcelain By Jacob Petit, Mid-19th Century
A Paris porcelain wash set comprising a ewer and basin, richly decorated with characteristic painted decoration attributed to the workshop of Jacob Petit. This piece dates from the late reign of Louis Philippe or the early reign of Napoleon III, circa 1840-1860. The decoration features naturalistic flowers with beautifully fresh enamel colors, and black and green bands with slightly raised gold decoration, typical of Jacob Petit's work. In good condition, with little hairline at the top of ewer, there is slight wear to the gilding, particularly around the rim of the basin and on the handle of the ewer. The basin is 30cm in diameter, and the ewer is 29.5cm high. A beautiful set of high-quality painting. All questions welcome.
