An exceptional 58-piece earthenware dinner service from Creil and Montereau, Silhouettes pattern, late 19th century. Characteristic of the period's production, which focused on naturalistic themes. Made of polychrome earthenware with grisaille effects, each piece features animals in grisaille within a silhouette reproduced in polychrome. The wings are multi-lobed, with a verdigris border and floral decoration on the rim. The handles of the tureen and gravy boat are decorated with fruit. Each piece is stamped on the base, and the trivet retains its original label, partially torn. The plates feature 12 different designs. The service comprises: 24 dinner plates, 25.5 cm in diameter; 14 soup plates, 25.5 cm in diameter; 14 dessert plates, 23.5 cm in diameter; 1 compote dish, 23.5 cm x 15 cm; and 1 garnish plate, 23 cm x 5.5 cm. 1 tureen: 23 cm x 19 cm. 1 salad bowl: 31 cm x 14 cm. 1 round platter: 35.5 cm. 2 round platters: 32 cm. 1 round platter: 29 cm. 1 gravy boat on a foot: 27 cm x 12 cm. 1 square trivet: 25 cm. The entire set is in exceptional condition. An incredible set due to its colors and the diversity of its decoration; the plates are a good size for the period!
