A 30-piece Tableware Set Made Of Sarreguemines Earthenware, “annales” Model.
Exceptional 30-piece tableware set made of Sarreguemines earthenware, “Annales” model.
This tableware set, featuring polychrome depictions of Alsatian figures, was created by Hansi, the pseudonym of the Alsatian artist Jean-Jacques Waltz, (1873–1951).
The Hansi tableware set was offered for sale in 1921 through a subscription campaign in the magazine *Les Annales littéraires et politiques*, which initiated and promoted the project.
The collection of designs conceived by Hansi and produced by Sarreguemines captures the atmosphere of Alsace.
It consists of:
16 dinner plates: 25 cm in diameter / 8 different designs.
8 soup bowls: 24.5 cm in diameter / 8 different designs.
2 serving bowls: 23.5 cm by 12 cm.
1 round serving dish: 33 cm in diameter.
1 lidded sauceboat: 22 cm by 17 cm.
1 sauceboat: 22 cm by 17 cm.
1 stacked plate: 21 cm by 4 cm.
Each piece is stamped on the back and signed “Hansi” inside the design.
The set is in good condition, with a beautiful sheen; there are a few minor chips in the glaze on 2 or 3 pieces, but nothing serious.
A complete set, a rare model, cheerful and colorful designs—a real gem!!!
