On a cartouche added at the bottom, a reproduction of the "Liberty ship SS ORLAND LOOMIS" adorned with a handwritten inscription:
Commander Alain CONNAN, In Philadelphia in 1972. At the shipyards of this city. Document taken on the bridge of the Liberty ship "Orland Loomis" while I was ferrying it in 1972 to the scrapyard. Ship built in December 1943 by "California Shipbuilding".
This Liberty Ship was christened in honor of Orland S. Loomis. The SS Orland Loomis was laid down by the California Shipbuilding Corp. in Wilmington, California, on November 16, 1943. It bears the name of the Governor-elect of Wisconsin. Note:
