This copper plaque is signed LP Grihours. It is an engraving depicting the ship "Cordillère," a passenger liner of the Compagnie des Messageries Marines (hence the "MM" on the plaque), launched in 1895 in La Ciotat. It was built on the model of a similar ship that made the South Atlantic crossing: the "Chili." It was also requisitioned during the First World War for the Far East route to ensure mail delivery.
