Indonesia, Bali Circa 1930, Wooden Statuette

A Balinese carved wooden statuette depicting a young, bare-breasted woman seated, holding her hair. Fine and expressive work, a rare, perhaps unique, piece with a beautiful mahogany brown patina. The base is richly decorated with stylized plant motifs. Art Deco influence, possibly from the 1930s or slightly earlier. Note a crack in the back. Origin: Bali (Indonesia) Period: Circa 1930 Material: Carved wood Condition: Good antique condition, light patina and minor signs of age consistent with its age. Dimensions: 20 cm.
