A lovely Louis XVI style beauty box covered from green shagreen, with a red-tinted horn lining.
Inside lid is lined with a high-quality optical mirror, surprisingly clear and allowing a full view of your face.
Silver mount (small works, 800/1000), hallmarked with boar's head and a silversmith's mark (to be determined).
Good condition, note spots on edge of mirror (red arrow).
French work, circa 1845-1860.
