Drawing Of A Man

Drawing on paper by the renowned Montmartre expressionist artist Gen Paul (1895-1975). This energetic and spontaneous work showcases the artist's signature "musical" line, capturing a figure in a moment of intense focus.

The drawing is localized in Guéthary (Basque Coast) and dated March 9, 1940. Gen Paul’s style during this period is marked by a frantic, rhythmic stroke that bridges the gap between traditional figurative art and modern expressionism. This piece is a testament to his ability to convey movement and emotion through minimalist yet powerful ink work.
