Small Ball Vase On A Footedge In Pressed Molded Glass, Sabino
Artist: Marius-ernest Sabino
A charming little globular vase resting on an elegant circular pedestal, crafted from pressed molded glass in a superb opalescent blue. The finely modeled, slightly raised decoration features a stylized, naturalistic, and geometric motif, characteristic of the Art Deco decorative vocabulary developed by Sabino in the 1920s and 30s. The satin finish delicately captures the light, highlighting the depth of the decoration as well as the subtle variations in tone, ranging from intense blue to milky blue. The piece strikes a beautiful balance between the simplicity of the form and the richness of the ornamentation. Signed on the base. A refined piece, representative of French glassmaking expertise between the two World Wars, ideal for an Art Deco collection or as a decorative object.
