Gilded Frame In The Style Of "mecca," Mid-19th Century
A fine mid-19th-century frame, keyed and gilded using the Mecca technique (silver leaf covered with a yellow varnish to imitate gold), perfect for a drawing or painting. The original gilding is in excellent condition, with a lovely sheen and a very simple yet bright molding. Rabbet dimensions: 36 cm x 44.8 cm; visible dimensions: 42.5 cm x 33.5 cm
