Antique Chignon/hair Comb In Tortoiseshell And Solid Silver, Napoleon III Era
In the 19th century, thanks to the fashion for chignons, hair combs became veritable jewelry accessories. The silver section, shaped like a crown, is hinged. Here is a lovely and elegant example in tortoiseshell and solid silver (hallmarked with a weevil). Very good condition for its age. 11 cm long / 5.8 cm wide / weight: 9 grams.
