Solid Mahogany Office Chair – Directoire Period, French Polished Finish. This elegant solid mahogany office chair rests on four tapered legs at the front and slightly saber-shaped legs at the back, characteristic of the restrained and architectural aesthetic of the Directoire period. The beautifully designed scrolled armrests frame a gently curved, horizontally sloping back. The overall proportions are harmonious and balanced. The seat and back are upholstered in brown studded leather, in good condition. The wood has a beautiful French polished finish, highlighting the depth and grain of the mahogany. French work, late 18th – very early 19th century (circa 1795–1805). Elegant furniture intended for an office or study. Dimensions: Height: 82 cm Width: 60 cm Depth: 52 cm
