Art Deco Panther Pair

A pair of panthers captured in a tender moment by Plagnet. Plagnet was a sculptor active in the 1930s and 40s, about whom little information is available. This Art Deco piece is truly superb in its movement and in the snapshot the sculptor chose to capture. It rests on a beautiful Portoro marble base, an emblematic marble of the Art Deco period. The sculpture is signed on the right side of the marble. The green bronze patina is magnificent and beautifully rendered. It is in perfect condition and weighs approximately 30 kg.
