"Bronze Animal Sculpture Signed Edouard Delabrière, Hunting Dog "
Edouard Dellabrière (1829-1910) Bronze with a brown patina depicting a seated hunting dog, rendered with a naturalism characteristic of the late 19th-century French school of animal sculpture. The animal is shown in an attentive pose, head slightly turned, gaze focused. The modeling of the coat, particularly detailed on the chest and drooping ears, reflects the direct influence of the animal tradition stemming from Barye and Mêne. The sculpture rests on a molded oval base. Signed "DELABRIERE" in relief on the base. Early cast, late 19th century. Underside with a wooden panel and central assembly system. Homogeneous patina with brown hues. Good overall condition.
