Framed oil on wood panel depicting a bouquet of flowers in a vase. Signed lower right Hugues de Beaumont (1874-1947). Good condition. Minor losses to the frame. 22 x 19.2 cm with frame. 20.5 x 17.8 cm without frame. H. de Beaumont, French painter, student of Gustave Moreau, Théobald Chartran, and Albert Maignan, won the Troyon Prize of the Institut de France twice (1895 and 1897). A member of the Committee of the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts, he exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1892 to 1902, at the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts from 1902 onward, and participated in exhibitions in Barcelona (1912), Chicago (1919), Wiesbaden (1920), Amsterdam (1926), Brussels, and Tokyo (1928). Joining the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts in 1903, he was made a full member in 1910 and a member of the jury in 1913. He received the Legion of Honour in 1930.
