A crackle-glazed ceramic sculpture of a walking tiger, with stylized modeling and clean lines characteristic of Art Deco (circa 1925-1935). The beautiful ivory glaze has a regular crackle pattern, and the decorative work evokes the animal sculptures produced by European workshops between the two World Wars. The maker's mark, Émaux de Louvière, is visible on the underside of the piece (see photo).
