Small zoetrope circa 1850. Based on an invention by William George Horner in 1834. Cardboard body pivoting on a turned wooden baluster base. This device is the ancestor of cinema. By rotating the drum with a strip of images inside, the illusion of movement is obtained through the slits (persistence of vision). With 12 animation strips in its original condition.
