"Modern Painting Signed Domenico De Bernardi Landscape 1921"
Oil on cardboard. Signed and dated lower right. A declaration of authenticity signed by his daughter Franca Brunella De Bernardi is included on the back. De Bernardi's painting is in line with the Lombard landscape tradition of the 19th and 20th centuries. He always lived in Besozzo, his hometown in the province of Varese, but traveled extensively, both within and outside Italy, gathering impressions and seeking out new landscapes to bring to life in his work. He favored landscape painting, though his style varied throughout his various pictorial phases. The work is presented in a period frame.
