Antique Art Deco Coty French Perfume Bottle With Cambodian Silver Mounts, Circa 1930

Antique perfume bottle in clear glass by Coty, Paris, bearing the factory stamp COTY / PARIS to the base.
The bottle is richly mounted in hand-worked Cambodian silver, dating to circa 1930.

The silver mounts are finely repoussé and pierced, decorated with dense vegetal scrolls and stylised architectural motifs characteristic of Khmer silverwork from the colonial period. The mounts comprise a pierced shoulder collar, applied panels to the body, and a matching silver screw cap.

This type of object reflects the adaptation of European luxury goods by Southeast Asian silversmiths for the local elite and export market during the interwar years.
