French School, 18th century. "Portrait of a Child." Oil on canvas, relined in the past. Bears a later signature on the left: "E. Vigée." In its original Louis XVI period carved and gilded wood frame stamped "Infroit" with the hallmark "JME." Old labels on the stretcher and the back of the frame. Dimensions with frame: H. 56cm x W. 47cm. An attribution to Nicolas-Benjamin Delapierre has been proposed by an expert specializing in 18th-century portraits. Excellent condition.
