In a desert landscape against a dark sky, a bluish goddess can be seen sitting in the lotus position, connecting the earth with the sky. Her architectural hair rises like a bright blue-violet tower into the almost black cloud cover. Her heavenly origin is emphasized by the bluish strip of sky behind her. She seems to concentrate the blue of the sky within herself, blue being the color of transcendence. In an almost symmetrical posture, she sits enthroned in her realm and spreads a transparent veil over the world from there to the foreground of the picture, illustrating her universal power. Her beautiful, Far Eastern-looking ideal features lend her a mysterious grandeur, while her gaze is directed into the distance and at the same time at the viewer, so that we are unable to escape her mysterious influence. A work of magical realism that invites meditation.    


Karin Hauke lives and works as an artist and jewelry designer in Benissa, Spain, and has exhibited her works in Germany, England, Holland, and other countries.
