François BOUCHER (1703-1770) "Study for an allegorical subject" Black chalk on ivory paper with watermark, Circa 1760, bears a signature lower right "F. Boucher" in a period Louis XV frame. Preparatory drawing for the engraving by Huquier, "Allegory of Poetry", kept at the Musée du Louvre, INV.6031 LR, published in the work of PJR at the Louvre under the reference 1303 & 1304 - Fig. 1304.
