Large 17th-century portrait attributed to Barbara Palmer, Duchess of Cleveland, oil on canvas attributed to Sir Peter Lely. Excellent quality and condition. Three-quarter length portrait depicting Mrs. Palmer wearing a gold dress and white chemise, holding a pitchfork. Presented in a paneled frame adorned with medallions. A nearly identical work, attributed to Lady Essex Rich, is in Hartwell House, National Trust. Provenance: Christie's, London (old number stenciled on the reverse). Dimensions: approximately 152 x 124 cm (framed).
