Silver And Enamel Perfume Bottle, Augsburg, Circa 1700
Chiseled silver on the body, two heart-shaped reserves enclosing an enamel plaque. One is decorated with a secular scene: Cupid shooting an arrow at two hearts; the other with a biblical scene: "Jacob's Dream, the Ladder of Descent." The foot unscrews to accommodate taffeta fly covers. Slight crack in the Jacob enamel. (I haven't been able to unscrew the stopper.) Weight approximately 58 cm
