Biblical scene depicting Moses drawing water from the rocks. The attribution to Angelo Solimena is consistent with both the style and the iconography of the subjects. The rich brown tones of the painting are in harmony, both technically and in character, with the works of Angelo and Francesco Solimena. The subject was also painted in another version by Angelo Solimena. It is assumed that the work is a sketch for a larger painting, which has not survived.
