The hallmark is set, like an eye, in the center of a small engraved compass: the all-seeing eye and the compass (representing measure, wisdom, etc.) are symbols of Masonic thought.
The globular handle is shaped like a crosier and decorated with vegetal motifs, flowers, and garlands of leaves. The rosewood shaft terminates in a silver ferrule. The initials AB and hallmarks are located on the ferrule: a boar's head (800, French) and the maker's mark (to be determined). Good condition with minor scratches to the varnish on the shaft and a small dent in the decoration on the outer flat of the pommel. Nice attractive presentation.
