"Wall Light From 1950 By Oswald Haerdt, Brass And Amber-colored Glass"
Wall sconce designed by the Austrian architect and designer Oswald Haerdtl for Lobmeyr in the 1950s. Adorned with two glass flowers and honey-colored glass leaves, with a ribbon wrapped around two side arms. Hanging hooks at the top. Wiring in good condition. Oswald Haerdtl, born in Vienna in 1899, is one of the most respected architect-designers of the interwar and postwar periods. He is best known for his early modernist designs, particularly those that contributed to the rise of Vienna's famous coffee houses, as well as for his collaborations with the iconic Austrian architect Josef Hoffmann. His designs were chosen to represent Austria at the World's Fairs in Brussels in 1935 and Paris in 1937.
