The Girl With Soap Bubbles After Mignard, Miniature Gouache Painting, 19th Century
Artist: D'après Pierre Mignard
Magnificent gouache painting on a thin panel.
This is a reproduction of the painting held at Versailles entitled "Girl with Soap Bubbles," painted by Pierre Mignard around 1681. It depicts Louise Marie Anne de Bourbon, known as Mademoiselle de Tours (1674-1681), the fifth child of Louis XIV and the Marquise de Montespan.
Our example dates from the late 19th century.
The quality of the painting is very good, with excellent proportions and colorimetry. However, this gouache has some damp stains, and the thin panel of fine material is cracked and has been repaired in the lower right corner.
Signed after Mignard.
Framed in a gilt bronze Empire style frame (no ring for hanging).
Late 19th century.
Shipping: €14 in France, €25 in the EU, and €80 for the rest of the world.
