"Versailles Delivered For, A Pair Of Armchairs Stamped By Boulard XVIII"
Pair of molded and carved wooden armchairs stamped by Boulard, with shaped backs and cabriole legs, all molded, very likely delivered to Versailles in 1778 for Madame Victoire's chambermaid. Jean-Baptiste Boulard, master in 1754. Our pair of armchairs is part of a series of four Boulard armchairs preserved at the Palace of Versailles, numbers VMB 14535 to 14538.
