Fanny Meyer was an artist from Bremen.

Oil painting on canvas signed and dated 1865 lower right

The frame has some minor defects and old restorations. It is to be considered as part of the painting.

Fanny's artistic training began in Bremen with Christian Grabau. From 1869, she studied at the art schools in Karlsruhe and Munich and undertook study trips to Upper Bavaria, Salzkammergut and Tyrol.

From 1873, she lived in Bremen again, where she worked as a landscape painter and participated in exhibitions. Her paintings were regularly exhibited at the Kunstverein's major art exhibition, and her works can be found in numerous catalogues of the Kunsthalle Bremen. It also owns her works “Weiden am Teich” (see above) and “Plant Study” (drawing, ink wash).
